Confession + Whereabouts

Collaboration with Ichinokai Theater Company

Overview

This work is a joint project between myself and the Ichinokai Theater Company on the theme of the tsunami. The starting point was a video installation called “Confession” that was exhibited in February 2020 at Tsunami Memorial Hall in Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture.
To reinterpret the original theme in “Confession”, the Ichinokai Theater Company created a new story in the form of a theatrical production called “Whereabouts”, and further incorporated the two screens from “Confession” into the theater space to create an original theatrical work.
